purchasing Associate

  • SEI Manufacturing is currently looking to fill a position within our administrative team. This position will allow you to learn our business from the ground-up and gain experience in many aspects of our business.

 The roles and responsibilities of Purchasing Associate are as follows:

  • Purchasing, Order Entry, and Materials Management processes
  • Monitor inventory on hand and reconcile the physical inventory to the system inventory and make adjustments
  • Work with production and suppliers to resolve material quality issues
  • Monitor slower moving inventory
  • Oversees and/or partakes in the negotiations and purchase of raw materials, sub-assemblies, components, supplies, and equipment in accordance with company purchasing policies and budgetary restrictions
  • Create purchase orders and manage the supply of raw materials and sub-finished components from suppliers
  • Develop and maintain day-to-day supplier partnerships in conjunction with supplier relationship managers
  • Inform production team leader of risks or changes that may impact the supply of material
  • Expediting orders to meet urgent customer needs
  • Run report daily to determine items that need to be purchased
  • Place daily purchase orders and enter purchase receipts
  • Monitor standard vs. actual costs
  • Find new sources of supply
  • Negotiate best purchase prices and freight terms
