Process enginner/cnc programmer

The roles and responsibilities of the Process Engineer/CNC Programmer are as follows:

  • Develop CNC programs for Production runs
  • Must be able to setup and operate machining centers
  • Have a strong GD&T understanding and the ability to interpret complex blueprints to prepare a machining process (Including tool selection, machine feeds, and machine speeds)
  • Design and create holding fixtures for machining processes (Using Solidworks or Edgecam/Surfcam)
  • Create blueprints from 3d models using Solidworks
  • Train production personnel on machine setup and production runs
  • Maintain tooling database
  • Create, maintain, and modify setup sheets for all production parts
  • Make manual program adjustments as necessary
  • Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process
  • Listen from input from production, engineering, and purchasing personnel and use inputs to improve the process
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to learn to program other machines such as CNC tube plasma or CNC plasma table
  • Must participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen events, set up reductions, plant layout, etc..)
  • Must participate in 6S
  • Make recommendations on new manufacturing methods and tooling
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Competent with MS office Suite
  • Follow company quality and safety standards
  • Collaborate effectively with the entire SEI Manufacturing team to assure clear communication

Minimum and Preferred requirements:

  • 2+ years of modeling or design experience
  • Experience with Edgecam/Surfcam software (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Industrial, Mechanical, MET, or equivalent engineering discipline) or equivalent experience
  • Basic math and computing knowledge
  • Must have a good attendance record
  • Must have a can do attitude
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office products
